The challenges will be open for entries after the May Get Dusty has
closed. Here are the themes -
The theme for June 13 is:
Category: Animals
Challenge: Birds who fish (Portrait or in action)
Deadline 25th June 2013
Comment: You can choose one or several Birds and the Birds should be the main
focus of the painting and easily identifiable (no flocks of birds seen from a vast
distance passing over the setting sun, in other words).
The theme for July 13 is
Category: Landscape
Challenge: What is a Summer Landscape to you?
Deadline 25th July 2013
Comment: A fairly free theme, lakes, rivers, buildings, people and animals in the
landscape are fine, as long as the main feature is the landscape. (no seashores or
seascapes please, enter them in the Free choice Dusty instead).
The theme for August 2013 is
Category: Free Choice!
Theme: Summer
Deadline 25th August 2013
Comment: The choice is free and all paintings should hint at Summer. It's easy
to make landscapes still lifes and florals summery, but if you are entering an
animal or human portrait something on or in the background should clearly
indicate that it is summer. Rain falls in summer too. (A dog on a
neutral blue background is not enough of a hint of Summer).
All three competitions will be opened at the beginning of June.
The winners, 2nd and 3rd places will be announced in the September
issue of the Scribbler as there is no Scribbler through the Summer.
